Kompolti is a well-known hemp cultivar from Hungary that was developed by genetics professor, Dr Bócsa. It was reportedly made from Chinese, Hungarian and Italian plant lines. Known for it's vigor and high adaptability, Kompolti is one of best biomass producers (along with Tiborszallasi) compared to all commercially available European strains. Kompolti also has the longest vegetative cycle when compared to a group of its EU peers, meaning that it either needs warmer Souther climates to fully mature for Flowers and Seed (Grain), or an early start in a Greenhouse.

When analyzing the data, both Kompolti and Tiborszallasi have low seed yields, but extremely high biomass, meaning that biomass will be predominately flower, even if Males are allowed to pollinate the crop. The oil content of Kompolti and Tiborszallasi seeds are also the lowest (25-27%) when compared to the other registered European varieties, while Kompolti and Carmagnola have the highest CBD content.
