Tri-crops provide the unique ability, through changing planting strategies, to provide either a harvest of Fiber, Grain and / or Cannabinoids.
Typically grown with trying to utilize two out of the three target crops, however, if a grower is industrious perhaps all three.
Tri-crop inflourecense (top sections with majority of leaf & flower mass) can be harvested separately from the stalks.
A combine type harvester in commercial applications would cut that top biomass, for grain or cannabinoid processing. The combine would then make a second pass and harvest the stalks for fiber processing.
When grown at home, or in smaller commercial trials this harvesting can be done by hand with pruners, or with an electric hedge trimmer.
This variety performs well under many grow methods with the above outcomes, and has been tested all over the USA, in various climates, hardiness zones and altitudes.
Photos of taller, cold hardy examples of the purple and green phenotypes, grown in the state of Minnesota.
Shorter BaOx (pronounced "BayOx") photos show "no till" field plants that are on the small size. If ground is compacted, expect smaller plants with smaller harvest.
If you prefer "no till" practices, then we recommend using a Broad Fork to prep for outdoor planting.
Indoor, Outdoor & Greenhouse:
Plant Height: 5 - 12 ft (1.25 - 3m)
Plant Spacing varies depending on intended harvest:
Fiber: 3-4" inch (7-9 centimeters)
Grain: 6" in (12-14 centimeters)
CBD: 3+ feet (1+ meter)
